Each of our inspectors has passed a series of written examinations, actively participates in continuing education and adheres to the ASHI Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics. Lew Nelson
Founder and owner, Lew Nelson has been inspecting homes for buyers for over 25 years as a certified ASHI inspector and is licensed by the City of Philadelphia to perform home inspections. He is skilled in many building trades, is a licensed Master Plumber and was a general contractor for over 20 years. Lew generates a type written narrative report including photos of defects.
Lew is an expert on radon testing and mitigation and has been involved in the radon industry since 1987. He is currently the Pennsylvania Department of Protection certified individual in charge of First Choice Radon Testing.

Eric Sunderland
Eric Sunderland is a certified ASHI inspector with over 18 years of experience, is licensed by the City of Philadelphia to perform home inspections and has a degree in structural Engineering. Eric produces a computer driven report that blends text and photographs into a digital report that makes it easy for the client and realtor to determine the condition of the home you are planning to buy. His wide range of construction experience includes working for a custom homebuilder and in the production of building materials. Eric has hands on experience in the construction phases. One of his most recent projects includes renovation of a 100+ year old house including replacing a bathroom.
Eric has been a Pennsylvania Department of Radiation certified radon tester in Pennsylvania for over 18 years.

Anders Hyatt
Anders Hyatt is an ASHI certified Inspector and is licensed by the City of Philadelphia to perform home inspections. He has over four years of experience with First Choice Home Inspection. Frank John Synnestvedt
Frank John Synnestvedt is an ASHI inspector with over 5 years of experience and is licensed by the City of Philadelphia to perform home inspections. Frank has over 10 year’s hands on experience in the construction industry. He is personally skilled in numerous trades including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, roofing, siding and tile installation.
Frank has 11 years of experience as a Pennsylvania Department of Radiation certified radon technician serving real estate in Pennsylvania.

Hans Peters
Hans Peters been inspecting homes for over 23 years and is a certified ASHI inspector and is licensed by the City of Philadelphia to perform home inspections. He is a skilled carpenter and has over 25 years of contracting experience including historic and commercial buildings as well as new construction. Hans produces a type written narrative report including photos of defects. Hans has also done disaster inspections for FEMA in Michigan, Louisiana, Texas and Florida as well as Pennsylvania.
Hans has been a Pennsylvania Department of Radiation certified radon tester since 2003, testing homes for new home buyers.
